Phaneesh Murthy facing sexual harassment charges for the second time. Last time the case was settled by Infosys by paying $3 million but this time he is sacked by iGate. Last time he faced sexual harassment charges from his personal secretary Reka Maximovitich and this time by a subordinate employee.

"This is a one off case and the industry is known for its highest standards of governance,"

Said Krishnakumar Natarajan, Chairman, NASSCOM to ET

"The board deliberated extensively on this matter,”

“We recognize the significant contributions Mr. Murthy has provided over the past 10 years in helping to establish iGate as a leader in the IT industry. He has worked hard to improve the value of iGate, and we greatly appreciate his efforts. However, as a result of this violation of iGate policy, we asked Mr. Murthy to step down.”

Said Co-founder and co-chairman of iGate board Sunil Wadhwani to Livemint.
